Trading Services

Kidzsignments will credit you one volunteer shift in exchange for any of the services listed below (4-hour minimum). In addition, we will provide you with a preview sale pass for each additional “traded service” preformed. Some of these may be excellent alternatives for those who are pregnant or suffer from a medical condition making it difficult for them to work a shift at the sale.

Areas where help is needed:

• Rack Assembly (Heavy Labor) – Help is needed to assemble clothing racks and move tables. This is a good job for your hubby!

• Sign Posting – Kidzsignments stakes over 50 signs in the ground 2-3 weeks before each sale. Volunteers are needed to complete this task in Flemington AND surrounding areas. Removing the signs after the sale is a part of this task.

• Flyer Distribution – Flyers are distributed to daycare centers, preschools, children’s gyms and other locations throughout the area.

• Flyer Posting – Help is needed to post flyers on community and private bulletin boards (where allowed).

• Gift Bag Stuffing – We have over 250 gift bags that need to be filled before the preview sale. A volunteer who can transport them to the sale by Tuesday at 7 pm may do these in advance. FULL FOR SPRING 08

NOTE: You must be approved to complete your assignment. Consignors must put in a total of 4 hours to qualify for the 10% bonus to their commission.

NEW- All trading services workers are required to complete a work certification form and submit it within 24 hours of completing your assignment to qualify for passes and/or bonuses.

If you do not have 4 hours to give but would like to shop the Wednesday night preview sale, you can earn a preview shopping pass for helping with the following (NOTE: these will not qualify consignors for the 10% bonus to their commission):

• Snacks for Volunteers  - FULL FOR SPRING 08

  Help feed our volunteers by providing them with snacks.  

  • Snacks may include anything that can be easily served. You will need to provide 3 snacks (choices include - soda/water and large family size bags of chips, pretzels, cookies, candy). Canned soda or bottled water is preferred.

  • Snacks need to be delivered on the day specified and MUST be labeled with your name and consignor ID, if applicable, to receive credit.
    

• Meals for Volunteers – We will gladly accept a home cooked or take-out meal for volunteers during the public sale. Lunch on Thursday and Friday must be delivered before noon. FULL FOR SPRING 08
  
  Advertising - Placing Ads in community, subdivision or company newsletters and bulletin boards. Passing out flyers to doctors offices, schools and daycare centers.

Do you have a special talent or access to other resources that can help the sale? We can trade for those too!  Here are some examples.

• Newspaper, TV or Radio Coverage – Do you know someone “in the industry”? If so, recruit them to help publicize the sale or offer us “friend & family” advertising rates and receive a volunteer shift in exchange.

• Printing Services – Do you have access to a copier or printing services? If so, trade your copy and printing services for a shift.

• Restaurant or Catering – Own a restaurant or catering business or know someone who does? Earn a shift when you help us to feed our hungry volunteers. FULL FOR SPRING 08

• Sign, Banner or Screen printing – We will be in need of new signs, banners and  t-shirt printing. Can you help? If so, you may earn a presale pass.

• Sign Display – Do you live on or have access to a property located on a busy street? If you would be willing to post a Kidzsignments sale sign visible to passers by, you can earn an early shopping pass. Not all locations will qualify, please contact us with your available location (s).

Put it on the Honey Do List! You can recruit your husband or a friend to provide the service! You will receive full credit for his 4 hours. (be sure to let Kidzsignments know of your substitution).

Remember, there are a limited number of positions available. We will fill positions on a first-come-first-serve basis, considering everyone’s individual situation and the needs of the sale. We will do our best to accommodate everyone. If you trade for volunteer credit or preview shopping passes, we are counting on you to follow through. In the event you do not fulfill your pledged obligation, or find a comparable replacement, you will not be allowed to participate as a volunteer again or participate in any future preview sale. Please understand that these guidelines have been put in to place to maintain a high quality sale.

NOTE: Consignors working toward increases in take-home percentages may use our trading services option for 1 work shift. All subsequent shifts must be worked at the sale location.
